“ Poke was very good. My son said the mac and cheese and fries were good as well. The atmosphere and building are great. Patio is large and spacious. They support disc golf so support them. ”
“ The food and experience was so good I didn’t even get pictures of the food the aftermath explains enough. We had an amazing experience at Big Grove we decided to let our waiter, Jeremy, take the reins and pick our drinks, appetizers, and entrees—and he absolutely nailed it. We kicked things off with some craft beers, then dug into a jumbo pretzel that was perfection. For the mains, we had the fried chicken sandwich and the French dip, both of which were insanely good. Huge shoutout to Jeremy for the top-tier recommendations and great service. If you’re looking for a spot that won’t disappoint, this is it! ”

Love Big Grove for vegan options - I visit every time I’m back in Des Moines we also got the Korean BBQ cauliflower wings for the first time & they were fabulous as well. They have a handful of other well-labeled vegan options on their menu as well! Highly recommend! ”
“ I'm really impressed! This was my first brewery in Des Moines and recommended to me by a friend. First, the ambiance is absolutely awesome. There's a ton of natural lighting indoor and the outdoor seating is also wonderful - you do not feel trapped at all. The food and drink are good as well. I went with a 7 oz citrus surfer lime and a summer jam sour for my drinks and the special of the day - Yakitori - for my food. I was surprised by how multicultural the menu was and just really impressed. Great spot. ”
“ It’s March Madness and we have Drake (My Alma Mater—Let’s Go!) ISU and Iowa a part of the hype. A chill place to surround yourself with friendly neighbors to enjoy the wrap around sports screens is “The Big Grove.” The menu of delicious game food is top notch. The Tap -house Burger has flavors that scores “A Caitlin Three” on meat, bun and toppings as well as a blend of delicious flavors. Taylor the “bar master” is super efficient, skilled with his taps, and a good conversationalist of “Big Grove” trivia. The prices are reasonable, the inside table spacing is enormous, and the food is a slam dunk even if the back parking lot is somewhat challenging. Go grab a tap and a tap-house burger and relax in the customer friendly ambiance. The entire place is FIRE! ”
“ Very cute restaurant! Both the inside and outside areas have great vibes. There was a special called the apple pie bratwurst which was very interesting and I appreciate the creativity! The Cubano was just ok. Lots of great beer options! ”
“ My family and I enjoyed going here for dinner. I would recommend and would return. This Big Grove location is set up well inside with the classy yet fun decor style, as well as outside with the patio seating and fire pit. It is spacious with plenty of seating. I ordered the stir fry noodles, which were a little too spicy for my taste as someone who prefers mild on a spice level, but were very good nonetheless. I also enjoyed a fruity and sweet mocktail from their menu. Not to mention, the free parking lot right next to the building is appreciated and convenient. The staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, my family and I had a good experience. We enjoyed checking out the gift shop after dinner as well. ”
“ Great brewery with a solid variety of tasty beers. The outdoor area is especially nice—comfortable seating, fire pits, and TVs make it a great spot to relax and catch a game. Overall, a great experience. The only downside was an interaction with one of the bartenders (a blonde woman) who seemed a bit inattentive and could benefit from some customer service training. Other than that, everything else was excellent ”
